Chip and Wickie's Story

Hello friends! Just checking in. I have lived in my new cozy home since March. Almost 5 blissful months now. I am not sure exactly what date mama picked me up. If any remembers, I would like to know. I was officially adopted in April. Whoo hoo! What a great day THAT was!! I am comfy and cozy here in Mokena and have had a wonderful summer.
I am still a good little boy my mama says. I have found my voice when strangers walk by the house or the doorbell rings. Big Papa was hoping I would stay quiet. Oh, well he loves me anyway. I don't leave the yard anymore, but I did try to tell the pit bull down the street who was boss the other day when he and his owner walked by. Mama wasn't home. Good thing Papa was watching me. The owner had to pick the pit bull up because I had quite a bit I wanted to say to him. They tell me that wasn't a good idea. I am tougher than I look!
I play with my furbro Chip ALL the time. Even when he is tired. Chip gained a little weight over the summer, but I took care of that! I basically pounce on him every chance I get and we chase each other all over the house. Sometimes, mama says "take it outside" and then we chase each other all over the yard. I have so many toys and love to play with them. I do believe they are all mine and Chip gets the ones I am not using. He is pretty laid back and that works for me.
I had my first raw bone today. Mama bought Chip a big lamb bone and a little one for me. Well, when I saw Chip's bone there was no way I wanted that little tiny thing. So, I did what any self respecting small dog would do.........I stole it and ran! Mama had to hold the bone in the middle and Chip and I each got a knuckle. It worked for me. Boy was that yummy. Wonder why mama waited so long to let me try that.
The really BIG NEWS is that I am not wearing a diaper anymore!!!!!!!! Well, sometimes I get a diaper when my family is gone a long time, but its not wet when they come home. If its only four hours or so, or when my peeps are home, no diaper for Wickie!! Mama had a hard time getting my "signals". I was sending them, she just wasn't getting it. I still don't bark at the door, but I go "find" someone and stare at them, or now I stand by the door and hope someone sees me. And I don't "mark" the carpet anymore. Actually, CHIP had the last accident. Ha! So, the Wickster is rocking the place now!!
My family loves me and I am very happy. I will have to get used to this "back to school" thing they are talking about. Chip and I will have to entertain ourselves during the day I guess. Not a problem. I usually eat the birdseed under the bird cage when no one is home anyway!
Well, enjoy the rest of your summer! Talk to you soon.
Love Wickie
