WRM is located right in the heart of Missouri's puppy mill country and now serves the states of Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas. Averaging 9 to 10 new rescue dogs each month.

It costs $450 to $800 to get a puppy mill dog healthy enough to be adopted. All adopting homes give us an adoption donation, but that donation is usually not enough to cover the dog's medical expenses.

Fostering

If you are looking for a rewarding way to volunteer your time, share your love and home with an adorable Westie, and help families find the right pet for them, then you have come to the right place!! Fill out a foster home application today! 

Fostering is both challenging and rewarding when you see a Westie in need of a new home find love and a new life in your care. Fostering involves homing a Westie until a permanent home is located, includes vet visits, socializing dogs with humans and other pets and providing a loving environment in which a rescued Westie can show it's wonderful personality. All medical care is taken care of by Westie Rescue of Missouri. The smiles of families as they adopt their new dog is truly an irreplaceable feeling as you help a dog and family find each other and start a new life. We need foster homes in MO, IL, IA and surrounding States.

Join the Westie Express

The Westie Express was set up to try and assist adopters with the transports of their rescue dogs. One of the greatest obstacles in placing these dogs has been coordinating the movement of the dogs outside our geographic boundaries.

The Westie Express is a group of volunteers who are willing to donate a little bit of their time in order to bridge the mile gap to help adopting families reach their dog. By careful coordination and timing between adopting families and volunteers, WRM rescue dogs are able to get to their new homes safely.

With a nationwide network of foster homes and transporters, Missouri will be able to rescue more dogs. And, the transportation network will be available to any rescue group needing to transport a Westie to his or her new home.
