Aroooo! Hi! This is Casey alias Lucky alias Joplin. My full name now is Lucky Casey Cahill. I took to my name, Casey, right away.
Mommy and I thought it would be fun to send a newsletter every so often to our friends at the Rescue. So we created Casey's Chronicles.
We send thanks to all who took care of me and rescued me from my death! Whew! I am so glad to have a forever home finally and Mommy and Daddy really love me. I love them too and have become quite attached. They think I am so cute! They're right, of course. I let them think they're the alpha dogs but I know I am. I get plenty to eat and you can't feel my ribs anymore. To please them, I go to the bathroom outside now. It makes them so happy. I know how to charm them and look cute, lovey, ornery and inquisitive.
I love all my toys Mommy gets me. I have loud squeaky toys and a fetch ball that lights up and other balls and safe Nylabones. Daddy threw my first toy away because they didn't want me to get the stuffing. Parents! My favorite toy is Daddy!
I have been to the vet twice now. They tell me he's my friend but he took the stitches out from the neutering the first time and I growled. I did not like that at all. Then he stuck me with a needle and I cried. Daddy called me wimp, whine and whimper! Mommy understood. It was a Lymes vaccine. I growled at all the animals in the waiting room and Daddy kept covering my eyes! I just went on Thursday again and there were a lot of other animals waiting but I didn't growl as much. Have to keep up my rep, you know! It was so quick I think the vet gave me another shot. That was alright!
Mommy sent off for my license so I will be legal. They are going to get me my own name tag too. Cool!
Mommy trimmed me and they want to give me a bath next weekend! I'm not sure about that. Mommy bought clippers to finish my grooming.
I am not too keen on the tooth brushing. I did not like the first flavor, peppermint but I can tolerate the second one, beef. You have to humor parents sometimes, it seems. I like the Nylabone dental bones better.
I have treats that I love to bury around the house but they keep finding them.
I made Mommy laugh. I was stretched out on the bedroom floor playing with my squeakies and when one moved, instead of getting up, I just dragged myself over to it. It was fun. I made Daddy laugh too. I took a treat and went around the house looking for a good place to hide it but couldn't think of one, so I put it back in the bowl!
I am not in the crate too much, only a few hours when they get food or when they go to church. Speaking of crates, I went into mine and the door shut and I didn't know I could push it open. I just sat in there looking at them, watching Daddy look all over for me until Mommy saw my head.
I love to get under the couch, the chairs and the bed. They always want to know where I am. I love to tease them and play jokes on them.
I like their friends and they like me, of course, but I guard the house and announce their arrival. I also guard the house from all the critters and neighbors.
I do not like being on the leash but they have promised me I am getting a better higher fence after their property settlement. They are afraid I have the wanderlust for some strange reason. I still love to jump and am training both Mommy and Daddy to catch me.
The bright spot of my day is when Daddy comes home. I like both my parents with me. Mommy is home everyday with me. I also like them to both pay attention to ME, not each other! I have found my forever home. God was watching out for me, that's for sure. A special aroooo to my foster parents. I want you to know I appreciate your care and I am happy.
I know Mommy worries about me as mommies are supposed to do. They say I am spoiled. I don't know what it means but it feels good and I like it! Thanks for letting me adopt them!
Arooooooo till next time! CASEY
