Adopt, Surrender, Report a Westie in Need

Professor Grommit's Story

Grommit

Hi, my name is Professor Grommit, but you can call me Grommy. I was rescued by two nice people on February 2, 2007. I was living in Iowa, and I got a ride with some Cairn Terriers to Chicago where my people met me. It was so cold – only 4 degrees! We drove to Sandusky, Ohio to stay over night, and finally drove home to western New York the next day. It was a long, long way; made longer by a blizzard in Buffalo. At least I got to ride in the back seat and get lots of attention on the way home.

I love my new house where I am the only dog. I love to go for walks in the countryside, play with toys, go for rides in the car and snuggle with my people. My people’s parent’s have a Westie named Westie. He was rescued from Tennessee. He and I are best friends (see photo below).

In the summer I love to participate in dog agility class. I get to run around and jump over things, go through tunnels and cool off in a pool. I am so fast the people call me “the White Blur”.

In the summer I love to go on vacation. I have been to Maine and went swimming in the ocean. I have even spent a week or two in downtown Boston, I have another Missouri Rescue friend there named Swiffer. In Boston they let nice dogs like me ride on the subway. I always wear my Red Sox bandana when I am visiting. Go RED SOX!

This fall I passed the Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog International test. I am looking forward to visiting people and making them happy.

Thank you good people of Westie Rescue! You gave me a second chance and now I have a great life!

Sincerely, Professor Grommit
