TESS'S FIRST DAYS OF FREEDOM
When we got home, Tess was so stinky that I immediately bathed her. She cringed when I first tried to touch her and you could see the fear in her eyes. It wasn't long until she learned she could run free. She and Clachan, my Scottie, would just go nuts running as fast as they could around the fenced area. She loved it!
Tess also discovered toys. Now she goes to the toy box and picks them all out. Then she plays with each one for a time. She is SO funny. Tess just loves being walked, especially out by the pasture. She and Clachan both saw a cow and calf at the same time.
After that walk, Tess loved to watch the calves play. She would stay there for the longest time just looking at them!

Well, after a total of 800 miles (600 round trip to Missouri and 200 round trip to Salina), several hundred dollars, and many hours, Tess is HOME with Becky! I met them midway in Salina, KS. Becky's husband, daughter, and Westie Sadie, Tess's new 'big sister', accompanied her to meet Tess.
Everyone is so happy, including Tess, who is with her new and forever family! When I got home Clachan, my Scottie who was Tess' first 'big brother', had an absolute fit trying to find her.
Thanks for funding this rescue. She is a doll. For her life to have only been a breeding program and a cage would have been the ultimate hell for her!
TESSA'S FOREVER HOME

We just returned from the Vet. Our Tess weighed in at 8.5 pounds. The vet said there were no parasites in her ears and no signs of infection. He said they looked really good and were healing nicely! He felt they were irritated from being dirty. Thanks to Marcia they are now clean but the Vet told me to go ahead with the Vitamin E oil for a few more days to soothe them. Tess was clear of heartworms so we started her on the once a month Heartguard.
Tess got all of her shots without a whimper one, and received a really pretty tag for our rabies vaccination. He also gave us vitamins to help her along. And a pretty red box, full of all kinds of puppy stuff! He was absolutely smitten with her, and the entire office had to come take a peek. He is involved in our local Humane Society and really happy that with Marcia's help Tess found us as her family. He said to give her until the end of next week to get adjusted before spaying. Now, we can rest easy for a little bit!
